For me it’s the goods; & a way to be “true”. Another way is to write completely invented fantasy things–you will be instantly & embarrassingly transparent (if only to everyone who knows you).
Everyone who does this, or some form of it, discovers that there’s no line, only a zone. There’s no need to kill yourself over it, only ask if it’s productive to be there.
