    This pertains to the Feb. 2 post. The comments seem to be closed, so this might not see its way through the filter. I’m not sure you can blame Joseph Campbell for the way mythology repeats itself, nor the way narrative often echoes those archetypes. Pattern recognition is in our DNA. There’s good reason to resist the monomyth, but I’d argue there’s equally good reasons for exploring it. Narrative doesn’t just come back to familiar themes out of lethargy. We’re a coded species with old hard wiring. Narrative which resists interpretation may be a quantum computer, but humanity is still running on DOS.
