British book covers are improving at last. But they could improve further. Bluemoose Books shows the way with this gorgeous example by Andrew Bannerman Bayles, who can be found here.
Beastings, by Ben Myers: available now from Bluemoose Books.
I find that covers are more influential for me when purchasing ebooks than they had ever been before with paperbacks (which I hardly ever buy now) or hardcovers (which I remove dusk-jackets from while reading).
That is rather good. Have you read any of Ben Myers’ stuff yet? I have a couple of his, but haven’t got to them so far.
Hi Max. I haven’t got round to Ben Myers yet either: but that cover has done its job so well I expect him to be next up.
Now if the UK publishers would just improve the bindings on trade paperbacks. Don’t just glue the individual pages to the cover! Bind them in signatures!
