The new collection: just a thousand words to lay in on The Last Viriconium Story, some cleaning up (I seem to have called a lot of male characters Tim in the last few years), then that’s it. Thanks to everyone who suggested Ambiente Hotel flash fictions for inclusion: so far the hardest part has been weaving them through the longer stories. Most popular, here & IRL, were The Web, Rockets of the Western Suburbs, Earth Advengers & Explaining the Undiscovered Continent.

What news! I can’t wait. Hugely enjoyed ‘The 4th Domain.’
Hi Robin. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed TFD–compared to Cave & Julia, comment’s been thin on the ground for this one. The news thing: a couple of interesting possibilities have turned up recently, but it’s much too soon to talk about them!
Oh, if you want more comments on “The Fourth Domain”:
I did enjoy it as I also did “Getting Out of There” and both were in a similar vein. But I do like your material with more of an Empty Space kind of, erm, “vibe”, maaaaaaan. By this I mean that the questions and outside information that leak into the reading are less localized and about the characters and more about the world(s). The “horror” kind of weird fiction does not really stir anything for me though I enjoy the prose. “People are weird and horrible” is just generally true. “Science fictional” weird however really weirds me out. And then I also have the pleasures of the prose.
Cave & Julia floated in a larger set of questions so I enjoyed it more.
But (so far) I find that I’ll read whatever you want to write and be glad for it.
What’s wrong with male characters called Tim? Fiction in general could with a few more. Looking forward to the new collection like no one’s business.
In itself, timcee, nothing: it’s just confusing for the reader if you call everybody by the same name…
Ludicrously excited about this.
