problems, problems

Protagonists who fail to solve their problem. Protagonists who are unable to solve their problem. Protagonists who misunderstood the problem. Problems that never reveal themselves at the surface. Problems that aren’t subject to being solved. Problems it is not possible to construct as zero-sum games. Problems it is not possible to construct as binary oppositions. Problems it is not possible to construct as a cluster or imbrication or entanglement (in its old sense) of binary oppositions. Protagonists who express as a problem events that are only really discoverable as events. Events that are here one moment, gone the next. Protagonists who have a flimsy grasp on events. Problems impossible to articulate except as a series of unrelated propositions. Every scene an inarticulate proposition. Problems the solutions to which fail to reveal a “truth”. Problems the solutions to which fail to make the writer feel smart or special. Problems the solution to which fail to make the reader feel smart or special.
